Urn burial beside trees

At RuheForst Hagen-Philippshöhe, urns are buried beside selected trees. Options include individual spaces at shared trees and trees for families or friends. A tree may have up to twelve burial spaces.

Choice and burial rights

Discuss the tree, available spaces, rights and fees with Wirtschaftsbetrieb Hagen. The resting period is 25 years; a purchased right runs until 31 December 2105. Ask to see the exact tree number and associated spaces before signing a contract.

Urns and decoration

The urn must be biodegradable. Untreated wooden urns are permitted except those made from oak or tropical wood. Planting, headstones, photographs and candles are not allowed; flowers associated with a burial are removed after no more than three days. The woodland is intended to retain its natural character.

Farewells and later visits

Two remembrance areas accommodate farewells. Confirm the meeting point for a guided visit or burial beforehand. For later visits, the tree number matters more than a general grave-section description. The cemetery administration assists with selection and orientation.
