Woodland character and maintenance

RuheForst Hagen-Philippshöhe is a natural burial place. The operator maintains the woodland and preserves its character. Individual grave planting or decoration is not provided for.

What may be left by a tree

Flowers associated with a burial may remain for up to three days. The operator then removes them. Candles, including battery-operated candles, photographs, headstones and permanent grave decorations are not allowed. Do not bring plants, containers or decorative items to a tree.

Before making an enquiry

Provide the deceased person’s full name and the tree number. Ask Wirtschaftsbetrieb Hagen about a name plaque, access, woodland closures or permitted flowers. A conventional grave-maintenance service cannot be applied directly to this woodland burial place.

Visiting and orientation

Use address and directions to reach Philippshöhe. The map shows the car park; finding an individual tree requires its number and the operator’s orientation information. Stay on designated woodland paths and observe weather-related restrictions.
